Our Story
It was Fall 2014, in a computer programming class at Amarillo College. Hunter spotted Jenn on the first day of class and tried to score a seat next to her for two semesters, wanting to draw her attention. He finally got a spot next to her, and the professor asked him if he would trade seats with an older gentleman who had bad vision and move to the back of the class! How rude!! Of course, Hunter kindly moved seats and granted the Professor's request. (Jenn's heart sank a little at this too, as she had noticed Hunter as well, always coming to class in a tan hoodie, covered in car grease after working on vehicles all day). Finally, Jenn asked Hunter for help on some homework, noticing that Hunter was the smartest person in class. Eventually, love overcame, as Jenn and Hunter both got hired at the same company in May 2015, and they decided that they were a couple the following July 4th. In 2019, we look forward to sharing the next step of our journey with family and close friends.
Proposal! Thanksgiving Day 2018, having Thanksgiving meal at Hunter's Mema's house, I (Jenn), had just walked in the door with my mashed potatoes and Hunter's Mom poured me a glass of wine. Hunter said "Can I show you something in the back, out in my PePa's shop?" Slightly annoyed, I said "Honey, you showed me the shop the last time we were here". Hunter said "I knowww, but I want to show you something ELSE!" Haha. Luckily, I had the sense to put my wine down and follow him outside where he confessed he actually didn't want to go to the shop and then he said a myriad of especially sweet things to me and gave me the most beautiful ring ever!
